Process painting allows us way of getting back in touch with that playful and creative spirit. It heals the places inside us that have been hurt by life’s challenges. It gives us back the spirit we had as a child. It is a method we can use in all areas of our lives to be more creative and less conditioned to the shoulds we have all learned so well.
WHAT IS PROCESS PAINTING?
• It is a non-competitive painting process
• It is creativity from the inside out
• It is spontaneous self-expression
• It is tapping into that unique voice that is inside all of us
• It is playful and fun
WHY USE PROCESS PAINTING?
• It is healing
• It teaches an active meditation style
• It helps us know ourselves better
• It helps us listen to our unique inner voice
• It requires No Special Talent
Have you ever watched a child at play? Children are perfect examples of process in action. They can change into different characters minute by minute with remarkable creativity and spontaneity. As we grow up and conditioning comes into our lives we often loose touch with our playful spirit. Being a grown up becomes serious stuff and creative play gets put aside. Judgment creeps into our lives such as good and bad, right and wrong, talent and the dreaded perfectionism. All those judgments stand in the way of enjoying our own unique spontaneous creativity.
I invite you to come and rediscover your sense of playfulness and creativity. I promise it is within all of us.
I received my process painting training in Master Series Classes with Michele Cassou, author of Point Zero. Refer to www.michelecassou.com to learn more.
